Frequently
Asked Questions
Q.
How many people can come to a murder mystery?
A. We have held murders for between 5 and 300 people.
Q. How should
the location be laid out?
A. We recommend that guests are made into teams of between 6 and 10 people,
preferably around tables (although this is not essential).
Q. What do I need to supply?
A. The Company Upfront Supply everything to execute the production, from
theatre lighting and note pads & pens to set, props and certificates
for the most successful detectives.
All you need to supply is quite simply, the room, the people and a room
for us to change in.
Q. How does the evening combine with a meal?
A. This is explained here - first degree murders.
Q. How many actors are there and do they eat with us?
A. There are a minimum of 7 actors for our 1st
degree murders. Refreshments for the actors will be required during
the evening, it can get hot under the lights!
Q. What if there are only a few people in our party? Or we are working
on a limited budget.
A. We have three types of murder, 1st Degree
and Public Murders. Take a look at our About
page for more information.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. Because private production are tailor made to suit your exact requirements
we are unable to quote a price without discussing the event in detail.
We strongly recommend booking a private party as this offers many advantages
over the public events - personalization of script - the choice to bespoke
the event to your requirements - greater choice of menu - team building
- pre-murder mingle.
Public venues will need to be contacted directly
to obtain prices.
Q. How long does
the event last for?
A. A standard 1st degree murder, based over a three/four course or buffet
style meal will last for approx. three hours. However we can also offer
one or two day events
Q. Do I need to supply somewhere for the actors to stay?
A. No, however, should we need to travel over approx. 150 miles to get
home, we may ask for this. We are able to arrange our own B&B if it
helps, however the cost will be added to the fee.
Q. Can you 'personalise'
the story?
A. Yes, this is especially successful for parties at which everyone is
familiar with one another. For example company parties. More successfully,
we can write a complete show, particular to that audience, though this
is considerably more expensive.
Q. Can you provide
the venue?
A. No. Though we are happy to recommend establishments in your area if
we are familiar with them.
Take a look at our locations page for suggestions.
Q. Do you provide
the prizes?
A. The Company Upfront supply every member of the winning team with a
certificate proclaiming their detective skills. Any additional prize will
need to be supplied by you.
Q. Can I choose the storyline?
A. This is usually fine, see our range of productions.
Check out our productions page or contact us
to discuss this in detail.
Q. How far in
advance do I need to book you?
A. As soon as possible, especially around holidays.
Q. When do we
pay you?
A. A 10% (Non-returnable) deposit is required to secure the booking, the
balance is payable on the night unless previously arranged. The contract
may be broken within 14 days of the events without any further loss. However,
if less than 14 days are given the minimum fee will become payable.
Q. So, what do I do next? How do I book you?
A. Contact us via the contacts page and we can
discuss you're requirements.
Don't panic there is no HARD SELL!
If you have a question
that is not covered above, please do not hesitate to contact
