Private Murders

Our Private, or "First Degree", murders are a fully personalised and individual experience for private or corporate parties.

Using at least 7 professional actors in full costume your guests can enjoy playing detective in a relaxed atmosphere with a meal and drinks whilst we perform your chosen script. Some companies ask your guests to play roles in the production, but this means the evening depends on the acting skills, and sobriety, of those guests. By using actors we can guarantee quality and your guests are able to fully relax and enjoy being detectives.

Below is an example of how an evening might progress. This example scenario is based around a 4-course meal, but can easily be adapted to work around a more relaxed buffet style meal, or even a picnic!

Each table of people at your meal will form one team of detectives, working together to identify the murderer, motive and method of the crime.

On being seated each detective will find a notepad and pen at their place setting. Also on the table will be background information to help them kick-start their investigations.

After the first course has been cleared your guests can relax and make notes while the events leading up to a murder are unveiled by our team of actors, professional costumes and scenery set the atmosphere for the dramatic revelation of the murder of one of the cast.

While your guests enjoy their main course and chew over the scene they have just witnessed further clues may be delivered to their table to clarify or confuse their theories!

The remaining characters will then circulate the guests' table and submit to grueling cross-examination by the amateur sleuths. This is one of the most popular sections of the evening, as each actor remains in character to answer your guests questions, trying not to give too much away.

After dessert, when the table has had a chance to further discuss their findings so far, the characters will circulate once more, giving a further opportunity for clarification, don't forget the murderer will deliberately lie, and there may be some tricky red herrings, but your guests can get all the information they need to find their suspect.

Whilst coffee is served your guests can reach their conclusions and their answer forms will be collected where they can tell us who, how and why they think the murder was committed.

Finally, at the end of the meal, the characters will return and the dramatic denouement will be performed revealing the murderer and their reasons.

The Master of Ceremonies will then announce the winning table and each winning guest will receive a souvenir certificate to prove they solved the case!

As well as offering Murder Mystery Evenings and Meals we can also offer full weekend or 2 day events, which would include additional scenes, a treasure hunt for extra clues, telephone cross examination and actors in character mingling with your guests.
